Roth Sheppard Says Goodbye to The Wazee Exchange
After more than a decade of calling the Wazee Exchange home, Roth Sheppard Architects is moving! The firm recently purchased a building in the historic Five Points neighborhood and plans to relocate there in early 2024.
Roth Sheppard’s new home has history dating back to 1929 when the building was home to a 60-car garage and filling station. Since then, the site has transformed from a grocery store to taxi storage and even multi-family housing! Although the original structure is gone, a new one was constructed in 1958. Thanks to Carl Bourgeois, a real estate developer who is credited with revitalizing the Five Points Neighborhood in the 80’s, the building often opened its doors to non-profit organizations. It hosted jazz concerts and always welcomed community members.
Roth Sheppard plans to keep the soul of 700 E 24th Ave alive as it transforms the space, once again, into a creative studio for its firm. The team is ready to take on the challenge of designing the space for, potentially their most difficult client, themselves!
Saying goodbye to the Wazee Exchange and LoDo will not be easy – But an adventure of possibilities awaits! Follow the journey as Roth Sheppard’s talented craftspeople design their own space.
Next… With a lease expiring July 31 at the Wazee Exchange, Roth Sheppard Architects is under pressure to find a temporary home!
