Rocklin, CA | 40,000 SF ‘Big Box’ retail prototype store

Utilization of a carefully proportioned massing and exterior material palette was incorporated to symbolically and physically represent the lost craft of furniture making.  

Efficient construction technologies such as tilt-up concrete construction, repetitive steel framing, and standard storefront glazing were employed to keep overall building costs within the owner’s budget.

Design choices were made to reinforce the Scandinavian principles of balancing man-made and organic components.
