PRESS: NEW FIRESTONE PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER
From the Times Call: New Firestone Police Station expected to open in September
After roughly a year of construction work, the new Firestone Police Station is on track to be completed in mid-September.
On Tuesday afternoon, Firestone Lt. Alan Yoder donned a hard hat to walk through the building’s halls. As power tools whirred, he described how the up-to-date facility has been long overdue. The police department’s 28 officers are currently crammed into a shared space at town hall. Some officers also operate out of a modular.
“The one room that we use at the town hall is our board room, courtroom, training room, meeting room — it’s like four or five things all together,” Yoder said. “Here, we have the space that we need to spread out and have room.”
